Born and raised in Argentina, Carmen Rocio Gimenez is an art director and production designer based in New York City. With an intense passion for film and the fine arts, Rocio has been developing a layered set of tastes and abilities for several years. She has worked in different mediums including paint, photography and, most recently, animation. After attending Filmmaking at The National Institute of Art in Buenos Aires, she moved to New York to continue her studies in 2010. Despite being a multi-layered medium, Rocio was drawn in particular to the visual aspects of the art and has worked extensively with music videos, commercials, and short and feature films.
In 2010 she received a diploma in directing and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and in 2011 she studied Cinematography. While studying cinematography, she discovered the unmistakable collaborative bond that exists between the cinematographer and the production designer. She has since made it her priority to ensure that every frame and composition gets attention to the most intricate of detailed design.
Rocio is currently continuing her studies of the art of set design in further depth while simultaneously working on a number of different creative projects.
